RAFFAELLESCO Collection Among the most popular and
enduring Italian majolica patterns, the classic “Raffaellesco”
traces its origin to 16th century, and the graceful arabesques
of Raphael's famous frescoes. The stylized dragon of the central
motif was reputedly painted first by Raphael, a master painter
and architect of the Italian High Renaissance. Raffaellesco is
a benevolent deity who bestows good luck and fair winds to seagoing
merchants, thus the puffs of wind steaming from the dragon’s mouth.

We have some lovely hand painted imported Italian
Pottery not shown yet, which we will be adding later. Each piece
is completely hand made by a different artist. Some are reproduction
of antique patterns, others are just contemporaneous creations.
But all are hand made with the same old and secular techniques;
the wheel, the kiln and hand painted decoration. These come from
the heart of Florence to your home. A unique collection from a selection
of Tuscan and Umbrian ceramic items.
